Mistaking Undoing For Doing
A signal wrongly interpreted
perhaps
a damaged attention function
can only show you
where you must not go;
no wonder they pop up again and again
for you keep going there
learning nothing
expecting no twist no turnarounds
trusting the nature of mechanical attention
as if it is your bloody free-will
“There is some kind of ubiquitous thinking dysfunction which goes unnoticed especially by the persons themselves, and this is the horrifying part of it: somehow the self-monitoring circuit in the person is fooled by the very dysfunction it is supposed to monitor.” — Philip K Dick
